Ice Fishing

Bundle up in your winter gear and experience fishing on top of the water! Ice fishing is a large attraction on Saratoga Lake with an annual Ice Fishing Derby held in January every year. For more information visit SaratogaChamber.info.

Cross Country Skiing

Fly Fishing

With over 3,200 catchable fish per mile, it’s no wonder the Upper North Platte River attracts lure and fly fisherman from all over. Guided fishing trips are available through local off-site providers. Please inquire at the front desk for contact information.

Scenic River Floats

The Upper North Platte River and the Encampment River are two of Wyoming’s best rivers for float trips. Guided scenic float trips are available. Please inquire at the front desk. Float Tubes: $20/half day, $40/full day.

Inflatable Kayaks

Venture out on one of our inflatable kayaks as you paddle down Upper North Platte River and the Encampment River. Explore nature in these two person inflatable kayaks. Contact the front desk for details. $50/half day | $100/full day.

Mountain Biking

Riders will find miles of diverse trails and unpaved road networks that range from beginner to technical and offer superb challenges such as steep climbs and descents and water crossings through rugged wilderness terrain. Casual Biking

For a more leisurely experience, it’s also fun to cruise across the river bridge and explore town on one of our beach cruisers! Contact the front desk for details. Standard Bike: $20/half day, $40/full day.

E Bikes

Electric bikes make exploring the natural beauty of Wyoming a breeze. These multi-terrain bikes will take you anywhere you want to go. Explore miles of trails or take a ride into town. Inquire at the front desk. $20/hr | $60/day (9a-5p) | $100/24 hrs.

Bird Watching

Observe wild birds in their natural habitat from a variety of hotspots in the Saratoga area. The North Platte River is one of the best places to see bald eagles while the wetlands at Saratoga Lake, area mountains, and local grass prairies provide many other species.

Guided Horseback Rides

On a horeseback ride through the Snowies you are bound to encounter beautiful mountain scenery and wildlife! Guided horseback rides are available through local off-site providers in Saratoga. Please call Medicine Bow Ranch at 307-326-5439 to inquire.

Wildlife Viewing

Welcome to a place where the wildlife outnumber the people living here. Our diverse landscape provides habitat for a wide range of wild animals including pronghorn antelope, elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, moose, big horn sheep, coyote, prairie dogs, marmot, badgers and a variety of birds.

Scenic Drives

Enjoy the scenery with a drive along the Snowy Range Scenic Byway or across the Sierra Madre Mountain Range. Both of these paved routes climb summits before descending to valley floors and offer notable points of interest along the way. They are typically open Memorial Day through October, weather permitting.

Hiking Trails

There are over 50 designated hiking trails, ranging from easy to difficult, in the nearby Snowy Range and Sierra Madre Mountain Range.
